Stop Wishing, Start Doing!

Getting healthier and fitter is a mission. Its definitely not easy - I can tell you that. Time and time again i've started many healthy eating diets or plans and after a week or even the first couple of days i've completely given up. Its especially difficult if your doing it alone.
Its all about the motivation and determination - everyone knows that! And as it happens, I don't seem to have either of those things! So after a shopping spree today it has finally hit me - yet again! that I want to get healthier and fitter whilst loosing a healthy amount of weight so that I am happy.
I thought the best way to start of was to google related categories, such as fitness inspiration and healthy eating. Now I know the internet can be seen as harmful when it comes to subjects like this but if you look at healthy blogs and tumblr accounts with motivational quotes and healthy eating pictures etc it can really help to inspire.

Whilst on the look out for inspirational blogs I thought - why not blog about it too? By doing so I could possibly inspire others, and not only that but to myself too. I think that by blogging my journey it will help me look forward and hopefully continue to share results with you guys!

I want to start of by making small changes to my diet:
1. No snacking
2. Eat healthily
3. Drink more water
4. Exercise - little but often

I think these are the most important chances in a diet if they aren't already enforced. Its so easy to find your self eating away at a bar of chocolate in front of the tv in the evening or even in the comfort of your own bedroom. But if your looking for change, it will only come from the activity of yourself. I am determined to stop all of the bad habits I may have and swap then with all of the positives instead.
When starting journeys like this it is important to start slowly. You have to understand that changes are not made overnight but if you keep working to them you will be rewarded.

Tip:
If, like me you find tasks such as snacking hard you should try to find alternatives. My favourite snacks at the moment are Raspberries, Kale and Asparagus. All of these are super healthy as you may know. If you haven't heard of Kale before it is a leafy vegetable that can be eaten in my ways and cooked super quick. My favourite is "Kale Crisps". Simply grab an oven tray, cover it in foil, place kale on and sprinkle a tiny amount of oil and salt on (and I mean tiny) and then place in the oven for 6-8 minutes. Its like eating crisps but vegtables. Its super super good for you and overrides the need for chocolate. Another bonus - you can buy large bags in Tesco's ranging from £1-2. Bargain!

I'd really love to take this journey with you guys who read my blog as I feel like we can share experiences and advice. If you have any good tips, I'd love to hear in the comments below!
