Tom other wise known as Intensi-T is a beat boxer who makes music entirely by his mouth, a microphone and a loop pedal. He has performed at T4 on the Beach with Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts, performed duos onstage with Ed Sheeran, created a beat box collaboration with Rizzle Kicks and many more.
Nearly a year ago he released a single and music video for his own song 'Little Friend' featuring Ollie Green and since then the video has racked up over 140,000 views on YouTube.
I was lucky enough to ask him a few questions and heres what he had to say.
How did you come about beat boxing?
I started beatboxing in year 11 when someone came and did a workshop. I really enjoyed it and picked it up pretty fast. My friends did the workshop with me too and we used to beatbox in class but I was the only one taking it seriously. I loved it because I also play the drum kit.
What has been your favourite place to perform ever? Or are there a few?
There are definitely a few highlights. Headlining the stage at latitude festival was amazing and doing my own headlining gig at the waterfront in Norwich earlier this year was so much fun.
You've just finished filming the music video for your new debut single 'My Drums'. Are you allowed to give us any spoilers on what the videos about?
Yeah, it was a really really fun day. It started so early and ended so late but was so worth it. A spoiler? It's about my drums!
Who have you enjoyed supporting/beat boxing/ collaborating with?
Performing with Nicola Roberts for her single release was a lot of fun because people actually thought I was her younger brother!
Do you have any other hobbies/interests besides music?
In the summer back home in Norfolk is always great to go surfing and kayaking with my brother.
And final question. Who would you like to perform with the in future? And what is your goal for 2014?
I'd love to perform with Justin Timberlake and Eminem one day, they're big inspirations! Next year I'd love to perform the songs I've been writing this year, as no ones heard them yet, and visit new places! I love travelling!
