Interview with Team Recovery

(Lloyd Chaplin, Stuart Rowe, Kieran Diver, Tom Lambert)
Team Recovery - a new formed unsigned music group from Essex/Kent area. The group consists of Kieran Diver, Lloyd Chaplin, Tom Lambert and Stuart Rowe and was formed in June 2012. I got the chance to ask the guys a few questions about the group and here's what they had to say.
Introduce yourselves - Who sings/raps etc?
Lloyd: I'm Lloyd and I rap within the group.
Kieran: I'm Kieran and I rap within the group also.
Stuart: I'm Stuart and I am the singer of the group.
Tom: Im the guitarist/singer of the group.

How did you all meet?
Lloyd: I met Kieran about 6 years ago through a mutual interest in music. I met Stuart, Richie and Tom through Kieran after the group formed.
Kieran: I met all the lads through music in some form. I knew Lloyd through local chit chat when I first started rapping. Stuart and I met through a friend calls Peltsman and Tom and I met through an old school friend.
Stuart: I met Kieran through a friend in early 2012 and hit it off massively. He introduced me to Lloyd and Tom and we formed Team Recovery.
Tom: I met the lads through Kieran after he asked a friend of mine if he knew a guitarist after Richie the previous guitarist left to go to Hull University.

How did you come up with the group name?
Stuart: Kieran wanted to make an EP titled "Road to Recovery" and then thought "Team Recovery" would be a good name for the group and then it just stuck.
Lloyd: He also hash tagged "Team Recovery" on Twitter and then liked the sound of it.

Have you all always wanted to be in a music group, if not what did you want to do?
Lloyd: Personally, I never considered it before it happened. I was always a solo artist and therefore thought it would remain that way throughout my career.
Kieran: To me it was just about finding a bunch of friends who loved doing the same thing as me and then without even knowing the band was formed.
Stuart: I wanted to be a Producer/Fireman - haha only joking! But yes out of the group I'm always producing beats for myself and the group.

You've just released your music video for your new song 'Battle Scars'. What inspired you to write the lyrics for it?
Lloyd: The last few years as a musician and performed inspired me to write for the song.
Kieran: The ups and down of the past six years inspired me to write my part.
Stuart: Most of our music consists of covers, so I just sing the original lyrics where as Kieran and Lloyd write their own lyrics to it.
Tom: I just loved the meaning the music had behind it.

As a group who is your biggest inspiration in the industry?
Lloyd: Our biggest inspiration is basically anyone who makes great music, amateur or professional.
Kieran: I agree with Lloyd. Anyone who has a huge commitment to what they do we feel inspired by.
Stuart: I'd say Ed Sheeran or James Arthur, they're both very talented.
Tom: Like Lloyd and Kieran said, anyone who is consistent with what they do we really look up to.

If you could all describe the group in a few words or phrases, what would it be?
Lloyd: I would describe Team Recovery as Dynamic and Versatile.
Kieran: Misfits
Stuart: Randomly effective to people who relate in real life.
Tom: Different

Do you guys have any other hobbies/interests besides music?
Lloyd: I like my clothes a lot. Not in a shallow way but from a fashion point of view. I also like art and artists such as Dali.
Kieran: I just mainly like to chill with friends and hang out. Maybe down the local pub for a couple of pints to watch the football .. Liverpool fan. Haha!
Stuart: I pretty much spend everyday making music. It's my life and I enjoy it massively.

And what is your main goal for 2014?
Lloyd: In 2014, hopefully we will be performing a lot more and putting a lot more music out there for our listeners, as well as bringing out new merchandise.
Kieran: We are aiming to be a lot more consistent with our online work as well as our live work, because managing the two by ourselves has been eye opening for all of us but I think we have now grasped what we have to do better next year.
Stuart: To fill people with meaningful music and let the world hear us.
Tom: Hopefully to gain more support from across England that could lead to us doing a tour of the UK in the next couple of years.
